Welcome! I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate and Lecturer at the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs. Previously, I served as an APSA Congressional Fellow. I hold a Ph.D. from Duke University.

My research cuts across American political thought and American political development. In particular, I am interested in democratic equality in the U.S., and the ways in which democratic boundaries are created and reinforced by political institutions. My writing on these topics has appeared in venues including Perspectives on Politics, Political Theory, Polity, American Political Thought, State Politics & Policy Quarterly, and The Washington Post.

My work has been supported by the APSA Centennial Center, the Tobin Project, the Triangle Intellectual History Seminar, the Kenan Institute for Ethics, and the Preparing Future Faculty program.

I can be contacted at emamet@princeton.edu.
